Excerpts from "Success Power"

ASCENDING YOUR THRONE
People are first dreamers before they become achievers (Ayo Adebamowo)
“More people fail through lack of purpose than through lack of talent” (W.A. Sunny).

It Begins With a Dream
Dear friend, I know you long to succeed in life and to succeed the more hence your reading this book. Now the first thing I would have you understand in the school of success is that every success begins with a dream. If you will succeed in life you must have a dream. This is because every notable achievement begins with a dream. People are first dreamers before they become achievers. Virtually all the men and women who have made the greatest impact in all ages have been dreamers.

Williams Harry Gates II popularly known as Bill Gates is a passionate dreamer. In 1974, he had a dream to place computer on every desk in every home. Today, virtually all the millions of personal computers found in the world run on one software or the other from his Microsoft Corporation. This has in turn earned for him the biggest personal fortune in history amounting to over US $70bn making him the world’s richest man till date. Yet, at the time he first conceived his dream he was merely a 19 year-old college dropout.

Dr. David Oyedepo, founding Bishop of the living Faith Church a.k.a. Winners Chapel had a dream borne of God in April 1982 to build a world–class tabernacle that would be able to sit tens of thousand of worshipers at a time. 17 years later in September 1999, the world’s largest church auditorium named “Faith Tabernacle” was built and dedicated by his church in Nigeria.

The Wright Brother (Ogilvy and Wilbur) conceived a dream of building a vehicle that would be able to fly in the sky at a time certain outstanding scientists and engineers from all over the world had already concluded at a conference held in England that it would be impossible for man to develop an aircraft capable of flying. But at the dawn of the 20th century in 1903, the Wright brothers not only succeeded in developing the first aircraft, they also went ahead to fly it.

Dear friend, dreams are tremendously powerful. Every man will ascend his throne of glory and honour through his dream. A man’s potential for greatness in life is not in his circumstances but right within him: in his dream. Dare to have a dream and hold on tenaciously to your dream for your future is in your dream. To a large extent your dream determines what you become in life. The greatness of men is determined by the size of their dreams.

It is dreams that turn ordinary people into outstanding people. It is dreams that lift men above their contemporaries. It is dream that keeps a man going when all odds seem down against him. The great inventions, the profound breakthroughs and outstanding exploits in the world all began as a dream in the heart of an individual. Through dreams, purposes are birthed, discovered and established. Dreams help us see beyond our immediate circumstances. They inspire in us a hope for living. Dreams enhance foresight, which connotes ability to see ahead. Now it is important we see ahead for according to a Spanish proverb; “Those who don’t see ahead always remain behind”, and in the immortal words of Pascal; “To foresee is to rule”.
